How does the 'Sign me in automatically' work?

The 'Sign me in automatically' is optional, it saves your username and password on your computer and every time you access the page you will be automatically logged in.

What happens if I forget my password?

If you forget your password, please click on the 'Forgot your Password?' link of the front of the directory or on the sponsor login page. The password recovery email will be sent to the email address provided from your Contact Information. The email will contain a link which will redirect the user to the 'Manage Account' section, where the password can be updated.

How can I change my password?

After you are logged in, click on 'Account Settings' link, you will see the 'Current Password' field, type your current password in this field and your new password on the fields 'Password' and 'Retype Password', then hit the submit button.

Am I required to have an account to add items to the site?

Yes. In order to add any item, including Free items and marking items as a favorite (using the 'MY OBX' button), to the directory you must have an account.

How can I sign up for an account?

To sign up as a sponsor go to the 'Advertise With Us' link at top menu, select an item and level and click in 'SIGN UP' button. Fill out all fields, write down your username and password for future reference, choose the best payment gateway for you and follow the steps to finish the process. To sign up as a visitor go to 'Sign up | Login' link at top menu, fill out all fields and click in 'Create Account'. For both instances, you should receive an e-mail with further instructions and information.

Why am I receiving an 'Account Locked' message?

If you attempt to access your account and type in an incorrect password 5 times the account will lock for 1 hour. This is for security reasons.

How do I 'Claim My Business'?

Either click on 'List With Us' at the top right of the homepage or navigate to 'Advertise'. Search for your business in the search bar on the 'Advertise' page, create an account, pick a plan and start importing your information for your business (images, cover shots, long & short descriptions, address, etc.). If your business is not listed, create an account, add your business, pick a plan then import your data for your business. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or if we can assist with anything.

What is the 'MY OBX' button and how do I use it?

The 'MY OBX' button is your favorites button. After you have created an account (Visitor or Sponsor), when you find articles, deals, OBX Buzz conversations, listings, etc. that you like and want to save for later, click on the empty red heart icon next to the item. This action will save the item to your 'MY OBX' button (favorites) for later and the saved items can then be viewed on your profile dashboard. Click on the 'MY OBX' button at the top of all pages to access your saved items on the profile dashboard.

What is the 'OBX BUZZ'?

The 'OBX BUZZ' is a conversational style forum with articles from recent events, opinions on recent news and featuring almost anything from the Outer Banks. Both Visitors and Sponsors can add to or contribute to the conversation which covers a multitude of topics.

What is OBX.Live all about?

OBX.Live is a mobile online directory of all businesses in the 3 county area (Dare, Currituck & Hyde Counties).
